Overview in the app
Parents and guardians can open bank accounts and apply for payment cards in the app. The app also allows them to maintain an overview of all movements and transactions made by minors in their care.
What type of account is best for 9-12 year old kids?
Framtíðargrunnur is a savings account that is restricted until the account holder reaches 18 years of age.
Parents or guardians apply for the account in their app or online banking. The account can be either inflation-indexed or non-indexed and carries the highest deposit rates on offer at each time. It is easy to set up regular savings with automatic transfers.
What else do we offer for 9-12 year olds?
Other savings accounts or funds may be an option. Parents or guardian apply for bank accounts for their minors in Landsbankinn’s app but need to contact us to buy in funds for kinds under 13 years of age. We’ll help you set it up.
Simpler pocket money
Vasapeningar is a prepaid card for customers aged 9 to 18. You can apply for the card in the app and have it sent to your home. The young person is the card holder while the parent or guardian is its owner. Parents have an overview of card use in the app and can set text message alarms, for example when transactions are made. This makes it easy to have control over pocket money. Your child can always see the status of the card in the app or by using the QR code on the back of the card.
Recreation grants
We help Klassi members to participate in various activities. Each year, we award recreation grants that can be used to pay for all kinds of activities. Recipients of the grants in recent years have been sponsored to participate in various sports, art studies and more.
Electronic ID
To access the app, you need to have electronic ID or the Auðkenni app.
If you haven’t got electronic ID, make an appointment to visit any of our branches and we’ll help you activate the ID. Your parents or guardians need to sign the application. If they’re unable to come with you, they can sign the application electronically on Auðkenni’s website.
When you visit us to activate electronic ID, you need to bring valid personal identification such as a passport.
