What bank accounts with other banks can I see in Landsbankinn’s app?

You can view all the payment accounts you own in other banks. Other bank account types, such as fixed-term accounts, cannot be seen.

To date, only Arion Bank, Kvika Bank and Íslandsbanki offer this type of uplink. We hope that other banks and savings banks will join the group soon.

Yes. The link is based on new payment service laws known as PSD2. Banks are obligated to allow for such links. We ensure the utmost security.

How do I transfer from accounts with other banks?

First, you need to link to another bank or banks (see instructions above). Go to “Transfers” in the app and select a recipient.

Under “Account for withdrawal” you’ll be able to chose between accounts with Landsbankinn and the other banks you’ve linked to.

If I use Landsbankinn’s app to transfer funds from my account with another bank, will the transfer appear on my account statement with the other bank?

Yes, the transfer will appear on the account statement with your other bank.

If I link to another bank through Landsbankinn’s app, is that link permanent?

Accepted Answer

No, you can always terminate the link. The link to your bank accounts will be terminated every couple of months and you’ll have to repeat the process. But not to worry, it’s very easy!

Does this mean that all the banks are merging into one bank?

No, Landsbankinn is taking advantage of new laws on payment services, which require all banks to open access to bank accounts to boost competition.

Can I link to non-Icelandic banks through Landsbankinn’s app?

No, it’s not possible to see bank accounts with foreign banks.

Can I see the corporate bank accounts my company has with other banks in Landsbankinn’s app?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. What you see depends on your username with the other bank rather than your Id.No. This means that you may either be able to see individual companies or groups (parent and subsidiaries) and even your personal bank accounts, depending on your access settings with the other bank. This is because you can have multiple usernames but only one Id.No., and access is based on usernames.

Is there any risk that others with the company could access my personal finances.

No. Others connected to your company have their own usernames and their access is limited to them.

Why can’t I transfer from my accounts with Auður, the subsidiary of Kvika Bank?

Accepted Answer

Transfers from accounts with Auður are subject to certain restrictions and can only be made to a designated account. It was decided not to try to configure payment from these accounts at this time.

Is all the personal information about me with my own bank now also available to Landsbankinn?

No, Landsbankinn does not have access to transfer information or account balances, only to information about the existence of a link to another bank. Landsbankinn does have information about payments made in our app. The user - you - can view information about account balances and movements on accounts you link to in Landsbankinn’s app.

I just opened a new account with my other bank. Do I need to renew the link through Landsbankinn’s app to be able to see it?

I can’t find “Other banks” in the app. What should I do?

You have to have the newest version of the app. To update the app, go to App Store or Play Store depending on your device.
