Landsbankinn’s recognition as a model of good corporate governance has been renewed. Helga Björk Eiríksdóttir, Chairman of Landsbankinn’s Board of Directors, and Berglind Svavarsdóttir, Vice-chairman of the Board, accepted this recognition on behalf of the Bank at a formal ceremony held at Nauthóll on 26 August.
Landsbankinn initially received the award in 2014 and has been an annual recipient since. The recognition is based on a review of the Bank’s governance practices. The review has regard for the Guidelines on Corporate Governance published by the Iceland Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Icelandic Employers and Nasdaq Iceland. Stjórnvísi coordinates the review and recognition process.
The aim of the review and recognition process is to promote good corporate governance and clarify the role and responsibilities of corporate management. This year, 16 companies received the recognition.
