Landsbankinn has operated in Ísafjörður since 1904, for the longest period out of its building at Pólgata 1, taken into use in 1958. That building is 830 m2 and too spacious for the Bank’s purposes. The building at Pólgata 1 is based on drawings by Guðjón Samúelsson, a State Architect of Iceland, and its architect was Bárður Ísleifsson. The building was put up for sale in December 2020. While the Bank has accepted an offer on the house, a purchase contract has not yet been signed.
We look forward to welcoming customers at our new facilities at Hafnarstræti 19 on Friday!
