Landsbankinn in Akureyri will move to Hofsbót 2-4 before the end of 2024, according to a long-term rental agreement with the owners of the premises.
Currently under construction, the facilities are in Hofsbót 2 and partly on the ground floor of Hofsbót 4. The new location is located close to the Bank’s current housing. The new facilities are 600 square metres.
The Akureyri branch is one of the Bank’s core centres, with 30 employees currently stationed there. Most work out of the branch itself but there is also a large Customer Service Centre that answers queries from customers in all of Iceland. The new housing will be much more efficient in operation and is better suited to the Bank’s activities.
Landsbankinn put the old Landsbankinn house at Ráðhústorg up for sale last fall and accepted the highest offer. The old building is 2,300 square metres.
