We are making changes to the means by which customers confirm payments and various other actions in Landsbankinn’s app. The aim is to enhance security in ecommerce.
The first change relates to customer authentication when making transfers and payments to payment cards owned by others. We previously required the entry of a 4-digit security number. Customers are now asked to authenticate with biometrics (face or fingerprint ID), electronic ID or the Auðkenni app.
In the near future, we will also change authentication requirements for other payment actions in the app, e.g. international transfers and bills. Similar changes have already been made in online banking.
